I had a whole set of notes on a variety of topics, which I completely threw out the window. This podcast is a rant about technical jobs, in particular the requirements from employers who care more about certifications and degrees than your actual ability to do the work. Several do not require experience, or even a portfolio of work, but you MUST have a degree.
I also go after web developers who undercut prices and provide shit work that I have to go in and fix, costing the client more money. Just do it correctly, you assholes!
Toward the end, I mention help desk positions, of which I used to have. I was surrounded by people who had degrees coming out of their ass but couldn’t manage to troubleshoot simple issues. Clearly, degrees aren’t always indicative of real life ability.
